Suggestions Wanted
I would appreciate any suggestions that you may have for possible category intersection lists.
The following is what we have so far (I will add to this as new relevant ideas are brought up):
- Den Betas (Betas AND Den Items AND (Non-Member Items OR Member Items) AND (Available OR Unavailable))
- Clothing Betas (Betas AND Clothing AND (Non-Member Items OR Member Items) AND (Available OR Unavailable))
- Unavailable Den Prizes (Possible Prizes AND Den Items AND Unavailable AND (Non-Member Items OR Member Items))
- Unavailable Clothing Prizes (Possible Prizes AND Clothing AND Unavailable AND (Non-Member Items OR Member Items))
- Non-Member Adventure Prizes (Adventure Items AND Non-Member Items AND Available AND (Den Items OR Clothing))
- Non-Member Rares (Rares AND Non-Member Items AND Unavailable AND (Den Items OR Clothing))
- Non-Member Promo Gifts (Promo Gifts AND Non-Member Items AND (Available OR Unavailable) AND (Den Items OR Clothing))
- Non-Member Store-Bought Clothing (Area Stores AND Non-Member Items AND Clothing AND Available)
- Non-Member Store-Bought Den Items (Area Stores AND Non-Member Items AND Den Items AND Available)
- Non-Member Unavailable Diamond Shop (Diamond Shop AND Non-Member Items AND Unavailable AND (Clothing OR Den Items))
- Non-Member Summer Carnival (Summer Carnival AND Non-Member Items AND (Available OR Unavailable) AND (Clothing OR Den Items))
- Summer Carnival Clothing Rares(Summer Carnival AND Clothing AND Rares AND (Non-Member Items OR Member Items) AND (Available OR Unavailable)
- Non-Member Promo Pets (Promo Gifts AND Non-Member Pets AND (Available OR Unavailable) AND (Land Pets OR Flying Pets OR Ocean Pets))
When suggesting a new list, there are a couple of things to consider:
- The result of the lists should not be excessively long. Let's say under 300 pages for each list. Any more than that and they should be further divided into smaller lists because super long lists aren't as helpful in general.
- The results of the lists should be considerably distinct. If two lists are nearly identical except for a handful of pages, it would be better to just have one list with a note about the handful of pages.
- The results of the lists should be meaningful to Jammers (such as helping to identify potentially valuable items) and not just a random combination of categories.
- Each list has a limit of 6 categories combined together using logical intersections (AND). That is just how DPLforum code works and we cannot do anything about it.
- Logical unions (OR) are not directly part of DPLforums, but they can be implemented by having two lists side-by-side.
- For example, ( ( Possible Prizes OR Betas ) AND Unavailable ) is similar to having two lists of ( Possible Prizes AND Unavailable ) alongside ( Betas AND Unavailable ) except that there will be duplicates and you wouldn't be able to sort them together.
- Logical negations (NOT) can be used for any category.
- For example, ( Den Items AND ( NOT Betas ) AND Unavailable ) would be all den items that are not from Beta Testing and are not sold in stores.
- The lists have to be defined using categories. That is just how DPLforum code works and we cannot do anything about it.
Q&A
How does DPLforum code work? |

A full guide can be found on the MediaWiki DPLforum Extension page. For a specific example, consider trying to find a list of non-member clothing items that are currently sold at Jam Mart Clothing. This would basically be a logical intersection of Category:Non-Member Items, Category:Clothing, and Category:Jam Mart Clothing. The code could be as follows: <ol> <forum> namespace=0 category=Non-Member Items category=Clothing category=Jam Mart Clothing mode=list addlastedit=false </forum> </ol> The code would produce the following list:
